P6 have been offered the chance of a lifetime, to perform at the new (opening soon) Corn Exchange museum in Dalkieth, that will feature John Greatrex and how he foraged money! (And almost got away with it).
When P6 were told (in the middle of assembly) they were shocked, surprised and of course exited to know that you were going to be watched by over 60 people at a time. They also knew that they would be perfect for the job since they are such show off’s!
The offer also came with a professional drama teacher called: Matt Dunn, who is amazing at his job. He is also a professional script writer. The of the performances will take place on the 11th and 12th of May. A dress rehearsal is also included on the 10th of May.
All the dates that are given are in the time line of 2016. P6 are to rehearse as much as possible. Greatrex is massive deal so we’d appreciate it if all parents/carers that have a P6 St. Andrew’s child within their household to show lots of support. The teacher of P6, Mrs Rice says it a fascinating story. On behalf of P6 we would like to say how excited we all are!

Evan Fleming (P7) won the 500 word essay competition. The title off the essay was: The Tiger in the Tale. The story is about two police officers called: Bradley Bull and Fred Fox. The case that comes up happens to be the same kind of case that Fred had dealt with 10 years ago.
Evan chose this theme because his favourite book, The Cat in the Hat is about an animal .Evan’s favourite books are The Cat in the Hat and the Grinch. Evan really enjoys reading!
Well Done Evan!
This year P6 took part in a competition named the Euro quiz, on the 5th of March 2016. The Euroquiz is a competition for schools all around Scotland! We took part in the Midlothian heats. We came 3rd out of 15 schools.
The team were told to be at school for 8:30am. They did a great job arriving on time despite this early assignment. The competition took place at Stobhill Primary School from 9am-12pm. Just so that you know, the Euro quiz members were: Fraser, Ella, Erick, Kristy, Emma S and Katie. They worked extremely hard learning and memorizing their European facts, which meant lots of indoor breaks (for them) and loads of paper lying around the classroom! Once again a big Well Done to our Euro Quiz team.
