Alternative Tree Trimming 2020
We want to welcome you to our annual tree trimming event, now with a 2020 twist to ensure that it is Covid-19 safe.
Taking place in the car park of Our Lady of Consolation Church, you are invited to our ‘drive-thru’ Tree Trimming. Christmas songs will be playing, Selection Boxes available for the children, and Santa will also be there to collect your gifts for those less fortunate at this time.
When choosing your ticket, you will be able to choose a 15 minute slot in which you can drive into our Covid-safe Christmas Drop-Off. Here you will stay in the warmth of your vehicle whilst Santa greets you and your family, thanking you for your donation. He may even have a special treat for the kids to say thank you!
You will then be guided to our designated drop-off zone to drop off your gift before heading off to enjoy the rest of your evening.
As you can imagine, many people will find Christmas extra challenging this year, and we aim to help those people who we help each year, now more than ever.
When dropping off your gift, please ensure this is wrapped and clearly labelled ‘boy/girl/man/woman’ and size/age if appropriate.
To ensure safety, we ask that cars only arrive within their chosen time slot (15 minute slots available). All cars must follow the one way system in and out of the car park. Please follow the directions of the marshals and remain considerate of other vehicles.
During the event, we ask that all members of your party stay in your vehicle unless instructed to leave. When you are not in your vehicle face masks must be worn at all times.
Santa will also be abiding by Covid rules – he will sanitise his hands after each greeting and will ensure he has a face mask that covers his mouth, despite his beard!

For those without vehicles you are able to drop off your gifts from 5pm-5:30pm – this is a drop off only – Santa will not be here at this point. Gifts should be dropped at the hall door. You must not enter the hall. Please ring the bell to alert the volunteers that you have left your gift at the door. Someone will come and collect it.
