Weekly Update (03.04.20)

3rd April 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

WEEKLY UPDATE – 3rd April 2020

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support throughout the challenging times that we are currently experiencing.  We are a strong, resilient, caring community and this has been shown to be the case, in so many ways, in the past couple of weeks.  We do hope that all in the family will be able to have some time to relax and switch off over the Easter period.

A huge “Well Done” to all who have managed to engage with some of the Home Learning opportunities over the past two weeks.  Both pupils and grown-ups should be very proud of their achievements so far!    Please be aware that there will be no online learning set for the Easter holidays and teachers will not be communicating online during this time either.  We will resume online learning on 20th April 2020, with the launch of Google Classroom across all classes.

All information about Home Learning will continue to be made available on the school website:

  • GLOW Usernames and Passwords should now have been received by all pupils, for use after the Easter break. If your child has not received their password by 20th April 2020 please email the school office:  standrews_ps@midlothian.gov.uk
  • Your child will need their GLOW Username and Password to access Google Classroom. We will be in contact with you, via the school website, Twitter and text message to confirm when this is available.  There will also be information directing you and your child on how best to access and complete their learning, using the resource.
  • For those of you who may want to find out more, in the meantime, the Midlothian Digital Learning Team have put together a distance learning portal to support parents/carers from home. This can be found on the Athena Homepage by clicking on Parent Information.  A student portal is coming soon.

In the meantime, on behalf of all of the staff at St Andrew’s, we wish you a safe and happy Easter.

Thank you for your continued support.
